Our medic had a bit of an odd rescue a few days ago when this seal was reported as stuck between rocks in Hartley Bay. On arrival, our medic found that the seal wasn’t trapped however the rocks did look at if they had partially collapsed and the seal showed disoriented behaviours.
One the seal was out of the rocks, an assessment was conducted to find that fortunately the seal had an excellent temperature of 37.1C and was well hydrated with no injuries.
The seal was immediately relocated to a sandy, quiet beach to have a rest before returning to the water. Thank you!
