Tim Bain Memorial Award

This annual award scheme has been created in remembrance of one of BDMLR’s longest serving volunteers, Tim Bain. He was a part of the charity for over twenty years, much of which he served as an Area Coordinator for Cornwall, and attended many hundreds of callouts until he passed away suddenly in 2020.

The Tim Bain Memorial Award will be presented each year to celebrate the efforts of a BDMLR volunteer’s activities between the 1st January – 31st December 2023 who can be recognised for one or more of the following criteria:

  • Exceptional contribution during the course of an incident, going above and beyond to
    help an animal in need.
  • Consistently representing the charity to a high standard, demonstrating the values of
good animal welfare practice, teamwork, communication and health and safety.
  • Outstanding dedication across a range of activities including callouts, training,
education and outreach, fundraising efforts and more.

All current BDMLR volunteers are eligible for nomination. Nominations should not exceed more than two sides of A4 paper, and you are welcome to supply supporting evidence such as photos and videos. Nominations can be made by individuals, or a group working together and can include people who are not BDMLR volunteers too. The award committee is composed of all BDMLR staff and Trustees and the award winner will be announced and presented with a commemorative plaque soon after the deadline date.

Please send in your nomination to dan@bdmlr.org.uk by 30 the April 2024.

We look forward to seeing your nominations!
