On 1 September, some Medics have noticed that our call-out app, Cardskipper, has introduced a major update to its interface. The update by Cardskipper is intended to make the app simpler and more intuitive, but we are aware that the sudden change has also caused some issues for our BDMLR Marine Mammal Medics.
The updated app may look quite different, but please don’t panic. The most commonly encountered changes are listed below:
For many Medics, the opening page is displaying introductory instructions in Swedish. This is because Cardskipper is developed in Sweden; there is no need to change your phone or language settings.
If the Swedish instructions appear over your screen, press “Stäng” to close the message. The app should then display your membership ID card and opening page normally.

Some Medics are are finding they have been logged out of the app, and when trying to log back in, are seeing a message stating that they have no active memberships. This does not necessarily mean that your Medic membership has expired or been removed; it may simply be an issue with how the updated app is displaying your account.
We are speaking with Cardskipper to identify the easiest solution and will update this page when we have further information.
You will continue to receive call-out emails, so please use these for the time being.
While we work to resolve the issue, please try:

Some Medics are finding they have been logged out of the app and when using their correct log-in details (email and password) the app doesn’t recognise these details as correct. Some accounts are able to be logged in to on a web browser with the same details, however not all.
Update 12:35pm: Please use the original password you were first sent when joining Cardskipper (on your email), this appears to fix the issue.
This is the new Cardskipper interface and is how your Medic ID will now appear. Clicking this page will take you to the main BDMLR Cardskipper app, where you can find:
The order of these sections may change as we continue to refine the layout and make the BDMLR version of the app more focused on how we use it.
